The Big Apple Disappearance

The splendid breeze of the fall season gently blew, and instantly made goosebumbs appear on Liz’s back. Liz took in her surrounding and thought nothing would be better than this moment. It had been fall break and she decided to go to New York City with her friend Megan to visit her family, look around at apartments, and colleges.
“Don’t you think that next year is going to be difficult?” Liz asked Megan.
“ Well what do you mean? I’m not comprehending.”giggling Megan replied. “I mean like with all this school work we have to juggle, moving from Michigan to New York. It DEFINITELY is a lot I will say.I almost can’t believe it! It seems like it was just yesterday we had kindergarten and was in Miss Finkles class.” “Ha ha yeah, and I miss those little dumb songs she would make us sing to remember all those numbers, but look at us now, we’re in New York for crying out loud! And next year, you never know what’s gonna happen, we  could be the next big thing! NO!...more like replacing Justin Bieber on the charts!...” nudging Liz’s shoulder Megan kept blabbing on with enthusiasm. Walking along the concrete sidewalk sipping on their hot chocolates that were half empty, Megan’s pink prada purse dropped. As she went to go pick it up, Liz thought this would be a funny moment to document as a memory. Liz pulled out her black, shiny, new flip camera and pressed the record button.
“Hey guys it’s Liz! Um Megan and I are in New York, you know just checking out things and Megan, knowing how clumsy she is, dropped her purse.” Laughing, Liz turned the camera over to Megan, and skittishly, Megan shield her face from the camera. “Liz,STOP!” Megan yelled. “Okay fine, Megan’s getting annoyed so I guess we’ll talk to you guys later.” When Liz closed the camera and put it back in her black buttoned down coats pocket, her phone began vibrating a million times...Oh no...it was her mom trying to reach her.
       “Yeah mom?”Liz answered.
“ How’s the city treating you and Megan?” Liz’s mom asked. “What? Wait WHAT?!” Asked Liz putting the phone closer to her ear and placing her index finger to her right, red, cold, ear. She signaled Megan to come closer waving her hand back and forth as if she was fanning herself. Megan skimmpered over to Liz like a little mouseand began walking with Liz down the street into a dark and quiet alley.
     Finally a quiet place.
“Okay sorry mom. It was too loud, I couldn’t hear what you were saying.”
“Well I was just calling to make sure you’re alright and where’s your father?” Liz’s mom queried. “ Oh he’s at Aunt Lanies job on 5th Ave. Not too far.”
“Okay stay safe Liz. And stick tight with Megan. I don’t want to hear any bad news saying that you went missing.”
“Ha ha very funny mom.” Liz said giggly into the microphone sarcastically.
“I’m being serious Liz, New York City isn’t a place to play around. If you want  to live there, you MUST pay attention to what is around you.”
“Mom I know.” Liz  said impatiently.
“Alright, on that note, I’ll let you go. Remember curfew. 12 o’clock and you have to go back to your father.” Liz’s mom said in a serious tone.
After 10 seconds of silence, Liz spoke into the phone softly into the phone, “I love you mom.”
“I love you too.” Liz’s mom replied. Before hanging up, it came to Megan’s realization it was pitch dark and she started to get paranoid of the vibe that filled the air.”Alright Mom, I got to go, talk to you  soon. Bye.”
Those last words meant everything to Liz at this moment. It was now 11 pm. As the midnight darkness crept up slowly, the two teenaged girls became nervous, feeling practically stranded in the Big Apple;Home of new yorkers. A white van pulled up. With all their might, Megan and Liz began running away. When they reached the end of the alley, they thought they were safe. All of a sudden three guys with black hats on, Black winter coats, black sneakers, black gripping gloves, and denim levi jeans slowly appeared up behind Megan and Liz. The guys grabbed them and dragging them down the alley became a struggle as the two girls began kicking and screaming. The strangers covered Megan and Liz’s mouths almost blocking half of their noses , only leaving them with a limited supply of air. Megan bit the mysterious and unfamilars hand tasting the copper like blood.
“OW! SHE BIT ME!” Stranger number one yelled letting go of Megan. Megan, sprinting down the alley in tears, was heartbroken. Leaving her best friend behind wasn’t the greatest idea but that was one of the ways there could be help. Turning around the corner, Megan’s white pointy noise and her brown eye poked around the corner pressed against the old brick wall. She saw her friend being dragged and shoved into the back of the white van screaming for help. The wan door slammed and within seconds, her best friend was gone. Out of breath, Megan stopped looking at the alley and put her back against the brick wall. The clear tears ran down her pink rosy cheeks like a waterfall.
Groping around in her purse, tremblingly, she pulled out her phone and dialed for Liz’s dad.
    “Hello?!” Megan yelled anxiously
“Whats wrong?” Liz’s dad Jerry asked.
“ITS LIZ! WE WERE WALKING, AND MONICA JUST HAD CALLED LIZ AND THESE TWO GUYS CAME AND TOOK US AWAY BUT I WAS ABLE TO ESCAPE...THEY HAVE HER STILL...I’M SO SORRY...” Megan’s sentence began to trail off. Suddenly every bone in Megans body felt like they were collapsing and breaking and making her become weaker and weaker inside, at every breath she took.
“Okay, where are you? Are you safe? I’m coming to get you now.” Jerry responded quiet frightened. “I’m right around the corner from 7th Ave.” Megan sobbed. The call was disconnected.

The Brtital Cold Weather

The cold, eerie, ridgid January wind, blew as hard as a current pulling in someone in the deep blue sea. The white snow flakes came down from the sky landing on the white mittens that it seemed to be camafloudge. The past couple of weeks have been full of hectic distaster with the weather that all the schools in the township had been closed. Playing outside in this weather, was the best. It seemed as if when I closed my eyes and saw all darkness, I was able to picture being in the artic. The ice cold artic, where the polars bears that appeared on red sparkly coke bottles lived. It was an extravigently, amazing feeling that should've lasted forever.

NJASK test taking!!!

Through out the week of the NJASK, there was a ton of feelings going around the sixth grade hallways as the students of the sixth graders. With me personally, I had experiences a mix of feelings running through my head such as nervousness, eagerness and a quit bit of happiness. As being a sixth grader, I had four days and two sections of the test. That was for the first two days, English and the last two days, Math.

During the first two days during the testing of the English part of the NJASK, I thought to myself that it was going to be easy because all the essays such as explanatory, open-ended, and persuasive, I have gone over many times as a review in English class. All though the prompts that they had gave us was easy, it took me a while to plan out the story line of it. I thought to myself that I only had a limited amount of time so to keep myself where I needed to be and not waste my time on just one section, I split the sections into a certain amount of time so that I made it easy for myself. For the planning part, I made it only to be at least 5 minutes. And the rest I took at least 30 mins and then whatever time I had left, i used to go back and check over my work. The writing the essay part was easy and I hope that I was scored with a good grade that is reasonable and that I deserve.I think the only hard challenging part during the LA part of the NJASK was the multiple choice to this one passage which was Japense.

The math part, overall was challenging to me because on most of it, was thing that I didn't understand well before the NJASK and when I was learning it in school. All through that part also, I made sure that I had paced myself but at the same time I kept my eye on the clock so that I didn't run out of time once again.

All though the NJASK is a challenging thing that each child in the state of New Jersey has to face, it is benefitting us all by the thigns that are given on the test.

Kyle and Leah: The Lost Dog

"Maxie!!!! Come Here!!!" Leah exclaimed to the brown and black german shepherd. As Maxie came towards the treat Leah held out in her hand, Leah's older brother Kyle, came over petting Maxie on her back. "Hey Kyle!!"
Hi Leah." Kyle responded. Leah looked around curiously with a thinking expression written on her face. "Have you ever thought of how Claudia has many things to do when she gets home?" Leah quried. :Yeah, it seems fustrating to do that many things. Especially right after a couple boring hours in that college."  "Maybe we should be agood little brother and sister and do something fantastic for Claudia! Look at it this way, there's blue skies, nice weather, and the sun is out and you hardly see that during this time in April." After a while of processing what his sister just told him, Kyle shouted, " We CAN MAYBE WALK MAXIE FOR CLAUDIA!!!" When Kyle was done saying that, Leah looked relieved to see that her brother finally caught up and understood what Leah had been meaning for him to say. "I'll get the leash for the dog!!" Yelled Kyle as he began running into the kitchen looking for Maxie's leash. In a nano second, Kyle raced out the house with the purple lease that glowed magnificently in the shining sunlight. Leah took the leash from Kyle's hand and attached it onto the matching purple collar that was around Maxie's neck.
As soon as they got out of the backyard and got to the park, Kyle and Leah heard a rumble in their stomachs. They were unaware of what they heard, but they knew that they were hungry. Without realizing, at the same time, Kyle and Leah let go of the leash and Maxie ran off away from Kyle and Leah!! When Kyle and Leah got within a distance to catch Maxie, Maxie darted off and soon after, Kyle and Leah began to feel out of breath.
They then Knew Maxie was nowhere to be found after looking for two whole hours all over the park. So, they began looking for Maxie outside of the park and around the neighborhood. With Maxie to be found no where in sight, the began to lose hope in themselves.... All of sudden they heard someones familiar voice call out to them.
"Hey you guys missing something?" Asked Leah and Kyle's older sister Claudia. Oh no!!! We are doomed!! thought Kyle and Leah. Instead of getting yelled at, Leah told the story and their sister understood because that once happend to her. "Thanks you guys for helping me out. Maybe next time you guys can do something easy like wash the dishes or clean  my room." Explained Claudia. They began laughing to ease the mood and happy that they knew everything was now going to be okay with Maxie found, by their sides.

Quotes!!!

In your life, you face battles that you feel would be so difficult, so remarkable to be defeated, impossible to ever be accomplished but sometimes, you do lose those battles but at least you lean from those corruptions and mistakes. And you try to improve. "Fall seven times, stand up eight." (Japenese Proverb). This quote should inspire people to never give up and always go for the long run.
This reminds me of when I was learning how to ride a two wheeler with no  training wheels and I wound up falling of my bike. It was a very inscrusating pain but I new that in order to learn, this stuff was going to happen. As I got up, i had a cut but I new that couldn't stop me. I continued riding my bike and meanwhile, as I had the cut, I knew from that point on that I shouldn't do what I just tried to do. From that point on, I learned from my mistake and fixed it by correcting myself on what I should do while riding my bike.
This also relates to the situation in Tokyo Japan. On March 11th, 2011 there was a tsnumai and a 9.0 magnitute eathquake. The Japense all suffered in horrible ways. Mostly, death, horror, and not to mention inhaling the stentch of the nuclear power plant that had leaked from all the mess. The Japenese might have gone through the most terriblest time ever but now they stand together and tries to fix this. They stand up together, and are trying to make the enviroment around them much better then how it is right now.
Through everything, you learn from the mistakes you have made, or the bad times. During those healing times, you gain more knowledge and you, you become a bigger person, and you gain wisdom.

Locker Searches

Today, I have been informed that the Edison School Board is trying to have Random locker searches. I agree with this descion because it will help in 3 ways. These ways are if someone is carrying around drugs, the adminastrators or police will seek these drugs and have them disposed immeadiatly. Not only will this help the school, but this will help the student as well. This is so, because the student will have to go to another school to clean up he/she act and attitude.
This will help because if there is a weapon in the locker, same with drugs, it can be disposed and the school will be safe because there will be no harm or violence. Also, with no violence, there maybe can be a decrease in the death toll rate.Lastly, this can help because by the adminastators finding these drugs or weapons, the students who has possetion of those weapons will no longer have them and they can do no harm to themselves. Such as, commit suicide or have a drug overdose.
Overall, the Board of Education should have this act come into play because it will benefit in many ways.
